TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST PUMPKIN FRENCH TOAST
- French toast is always better when served immediately but if you have leftovers, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Make sure to store in a covered baking dish or airtight container.
- If you prefer to use whole wheat sliced bread for a healthy alternative you can use that instead of white. Thick bread is always best!
- Make sure to use 100% pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling- pumpkin pie filling will not work as it is loaded with other ingredients.
- Almond milk can be used instead of regular milk if you prefer. Make sure it is unsweetened.
- Be generous when buttering your frying pan! The butter gives the outer crust of the French toast a deliciously buttery flavor.
- This recipe can be easily doubled if you wanted to make more or serve this for a large gathering or holiday brunch!
Fortunately pumpkin has quite a few perks as well such as its potassium and vitamin K content. It is also heart healthy, an immune booster and is full of fiber–so there is a reason to indulge! Another perk of this breakfast is it will make your kitchen smell delicious and full of Fall scents.
