HEART SHAPED PIZZA
If you want a Valentine’s dinner that’s adorable and actually easy, this Heart-Shaped Pizza is it. You can use homemade or store-bought dough, shape it into a heart in minutes, then top it with cheese and the cutest little heart pepperoni.
This Heart-Shaped Pizza isn’t just for Valentine’s Day, it’s perfect for any occasion, a cozy date night in, or a fun family dinner. It’s also such a cute way to get kids involved in the kitchen (they’ll love helping shape the heart and add the toppings!). I love serving this Valentine’s Day Pizza with this Bacon Spinach Salad, Tomato Prosciutto Salad or Antipasto Salad.

Why You’ll Love This heart shaped pizza

HOW TO MAKE HEART SHAPED PEPPERONI
The easiest way to make heart shaped pepperoni is by carefully using a pair of clean scissors to cut out a heart shape. You could also use a small pairing knife but I find that the scissors work best.
You could also make a heart shape by folding the pepperoni in half and cutting out a heart shape. It may take you a couple tries to get the perfect heart shape that you want, but don’t worry it will be worth it!

key ingredients
- Homemade or store-bought pizza crust: Any crust will do. I love store-bought pizza crust because it saves me time and it’s convenient.
- Pizza sauce: You can use store-bought or homemade pizza sauce.
- Mozzarella cheese: I always prefer to use fresh mozzarella and grate it instead of pre-shredded mozzarella. There is so much more flavor when you use fresh ingredients and it melts better.
- Pepperoni: Standard size works best. You don’t have to shape them into hearts but I think it makes this pizza so special 🙂

HOW TO MAKE HEART SHAPED PIZZA
Prep baking pan: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly dust with flour.
Make heart shaped crust: To make your heart shaped pizza dough, roll pizza dough out to form about a 12-14 inch round crust on a floured surface. Shape the dough into a round circle. With a pair of clean scissors, cut a line down the center about 4 inches deep. Form a heart shape with your hands and then transfer to prepared baking sheet.
Add toppings: Spread pizza sauce evenly on top of pizza dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and then add desired amount of pepperoni.
Bake pizza: Brush the crust with olive oil and bake for 8-12 minutes according to your pizza dough instructions. The pizza crust should be a lightly golden brown color and the cheese will bubble. Let cool for a few minutes, then cut into desired pieces and enjoy!

tips & variations
- Low-carb pizza: Swap the pizza dough crust for a cauliflower pizza crust.
- Garlic flavor: If you want to you add garlic flavor, add a head of roasted garlic or chopped garlic clove. Find out how to easily make roasted garlic here.
- Extra crispy crust: Bake it for a few minutes longer, but be careful not to burn it.
- Mini Heart Pizzas: Make these mini for kids or class parties!
- Additional toppings: Diced bell peppers, crumbled sausage, basil, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, crumbed bacon and black olives.
LEFTOVERS
To-Store: Pizza is always delicious the next day! Place cooled pizza in a ziplock bag or airtight container. Store for up to 3 days. Eat leftovers cold or reheat in the oven at 350 degrees F for a few minutes until warmed.
I don’t recommend microwaving leftovers because it can make the pizza chewy and soggy.
To-Freeze: If you want to make this pizza and freeze it for another time, you can! You can either freeze a whole baked pizza or freeze it unbaked. To freeze a baked pizza, cool completely then wrap it in plastic wrap and then in foil.
To freeze an unbaked pizza: Be sure to place parchment paper on the bottom of a pizza dish and flash freeze it for at least 30 minutes or until hardened. Once it’s frozen, wrap tightly with plastic wrap, then in foil.
Thaw pizza before baking and reheating. Store in the freezer for 3 months.
