This Roasted Garlic Hummus is one of the best dips you could make! It’s made with a whole head of roasted garlic and packed with so much flavor! Paired with freshly made seasoned pita bread for the ultimate snack.

PIN Roasted Garlic Hummus to try later!

Roasted Garlic Hummus

This Homemade Roasted Garlic Hummus is the best snack. I make this recipe on repeat because it’s too good and super easy. This luscious hummus is the creamiest, lightest and packed with fresh roasted garlic- YUMMM! You can make this dip as an appetizer for a party or get together. It also makes amazing leftovers (it lasts up to a week in the fridge)!

I love snacking on this hummus because it’s high in protein, healthy and satisfying. Spread this hummus on a sandwich or wrap instead of mayonnaise for a healthy alternative like I did for this Veggie Sandwich! Some other delicious hummus recipes I can’t get enough of is this Artichoke Hummus and Spicy Avocado Hummus. You can also add this hummus to bruschetta for a quick and easy appetizer!

Roasted Garlic Hummus steps

HOW TO ROAST GARLIC

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Peel away any loose layers of the garlic and cut 1/4 inch off the top of the garlic. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Wrap the garlic in foil leaving room around the garlic. Bake for 45 minutes until the garlic cloves are softened- you can check by piercing a knife in the garlic. Let bake for another 5 minutes if it’s not all the way softened. Let cool for at least 20 minutes.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a small bowl mix together the herbs. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the pita bread on top. Brush on the olive oil on the pita bread and top with the seasonings. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool. Slice into 8 and enjoy with hummus.

seasoned pita bread

I love this quick, easy and simple seasoned pita bread, a lot. I used to always buy pita chips at the store until I made this bread and I haven’t bought pita chips since. Pita bread and freshly made hummus is a match made in heaven. You will agree once you try this recipe, I promise!

  • Chickpeas AKA garbanzo beans

  • Sesame oil or tahini

HOW TO MAKE ROASTED GARLIC HUMMUS

  • In a food processor add the chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, water, sesame oil OR tahini. Pulse together for 1 minute and then add the roasted garlic by squeezing the cloves out of each garlic clove. Process for another 4-5 minutes until the hummus is smooth. Serve with seasoned pita bread, chips or veggies.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST ROASTED GARLIC HUMMUS

  • If you are a huge garlic fan, I highly suggest making and adding 2 heads of roasted garlic for maximum garlic flavor
  • To make this the creamiest and smoothest hummus, process in the food processor for at least 5-7 minutes. The longer you process, the fluffier
  • If you love spice, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • Tahini has always been a challenging product to find as not all grocery stores sell it, so if you can’t find it sesame oil will work
  • Bulk up on the roasted garlic for leftovers. Since the roasted garlic takes almost an hour to make, I highly suggest making a couple roasted garlics at a time. You can use the roasted garlic in so many different recipes or simply spread on fresh bread

Now THIS is my kind of hummus – 2 whole cloves, yes please! It’s picture perfect, too. Some really great tips in here, too and it reminds me it’s been too long since I’ve made hummus!
