Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup

It’s hard to beat a meal that comes from a slow cooker aka crock pot! This Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup is even better than a classic Split Pea Soup because all of the ingredients deliciously melt together. We eat soup year-round around here but it always tastes better on chilly days for some reason.

Split peas cook the best when they are in the slow cooker because they require time to become soft and tender. This Split Pea Soup recipe requires minimal ingredients so it’s convenient for anyone to make. The best part about slow cookers is you can set it and forget it!

Another perk of this recipe besides it being incredibly easy to make is there are so many health benefits of split peas so you don’t have to feel bad for loving this! Split peas are naturally high in protein, fiber, and loaded with all kinds of vitamins such as vitamin B, vitamin K, folate, zinc, magnesium and iron.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup ingredients

This is a perfect way to use up any leftover ham- as long as the ham is cooked, you could use any kind!

I love using my slow cooker  because it’s so easy and requires little time in the kitchen. Some of my favorite slow cooker recipes to make is Beef Barley Soup,  Sausage Spinach and Bean Soup, and Rosemary Lemon Whole Chicken.

I love seeing all the goodies loaded there in the crock. This kind of soup is perfect as a soup and sandwich lunch with some more ham on bread.
