Strawberry Shortcake Dip
If you’re a fan of the classic Strawberry Shortcake dessert, you’ll fall in love with this fun twist that takes 5 minutes to make and requires 6 ingredients! This dip is light, airy, perfectly sweetened, and can be served with your favorite dippers.
Whip this delicious dessert dip up for parties, the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Valentine’s Day, birthdays, and summer BBQs. If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend using dippers such as shortbread cookies, graham crackers, or pound cake pieces for the ultimate dessert pairing.
You can make this sweet Strawberry Dip all year round but my favorite is during strawberry season when strawberries are sweet and juicy. Serving this dip with fresh fruit makes a great option for a healthier fruit dip alternative.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
key ingredients
- Cream cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature.I like to use whipped cream cheese because it blends in better with the ingredients and makes for an extra fluffy dip.
- Powdered sugar: Adds sweetness. Feel free to add more or less depending on how sweet you want these to be. Powdered sugar works best as opposed to granulated sugar because its lighter and will create a fluffier texture.
- Vanilla extract: Enhances the flavors and adds a warm flavor.
- Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are always best, use as many as you prefer. For the recipe we just add them on top but you can also mix strawberries into the dip if you want more.
- Yogurt: I prefer to use regular vanilla or strawberry yogurt because of the consistency but you can also use Greek yogurt for a thicker texture. Plain yogurt will also work and alternatively you could use 1 cup of Cool Whip.
- Dippers: I love using a variety of dippers such as pretzels, pretzel sticks, Oreos, vanilla wafers, animal crackers, and fresh fruit. Use any of your favorites!
how to make strawberry shortcake dip
Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla: In a large mixing bowl with an electric hand mixer, or in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium speed, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
Add in the yogurt: Stir again until mixed in. Fold in the crushed graham cracker crumbs.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl or serving plate: Add strawberries to the top of cream cheese mixture and serve immediately or place in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Serve with your favorite dippers. Enjoy!
recipe tips & variations
- Add-ins and toppings: Mix in your favorites or add them to the top of the dip like mini marshmallows, crushed golden Oreos, white chocolate chips, chopped nuts (for a little crunch), sugar cookie cookie dough, fresh mint leaves, strawberry jam and strawberry syrup.
- Chill the dip: For best results, let the dip sit in the fridge to chill for at least 20 minutes or overnight to let the flavors come together. If storing overnight, add the strawberries when ready to serve.
- Protein dip: Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder and swap the regular yogurt for Greek yogurt for a high protein packed dip.
- Double the recipe: You can easily double the recipe if you need to serve this for a large crowd or party.
- Lemon twist: Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or lemon zest and garnish with fresh lemon peel then serve with bits of lemon pound cake.

leftovers & storage
Store any leftover dip in an airtight container or cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. You may need to stir the dip when you want to eat it again to combine all of the ingredients.
Can You Freeze Leftover Dip?
You can! Place the dip in an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or on the counter for a few hours. Be sure to give the dip a good stir before serving. Please note that by doing this, the strawberry pieces and graham crackers will have a softer texture.
