INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE MUMMY RICE KRISPIE TREATS

  • Butter
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Rice Krispies cereal
  • White chocolate or white melting chocolate
  • Candy eye balls or mini chocolate chips

HOW TO MAKE MUMMY RICE KRISPIE TREATS

To make the Rice Krispie Treats

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter on low heat and then add the mini marshmallows. Stir together until the marshmallows are completely melted.
  2. Remove from heat and add in Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well combined and the cereal is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  3. Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and evenly press the rice krispie treats mixture into the pan. Use a buttered spatula or butter wax paper to prevent your hands from getting too sticky. Place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden.

To assemble the Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

  1. Use a sharp knife and cut the Rice Krispie treats into 10 rectangular pieces. Place white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave safe bowl, and melt in the microwave according to package directions.
  2. Dab the back of each eye ball with white chocolate and top on to the Rice Krispie Treat to create the look for a mummy, repeat on all 10 mummies.
  3. Place the melted white chocolate into a ziplock bag and cut a small slit in the corner. Drizzle the chocoalte across the top of the mummies in a random pattern to look like a mummy wrap. Repeat with additional rice krispie treats and allow the chocolate to harden and set. Place in the refrigerator if you want to harden them quicker.

Notes

  1. If you are unable to find the candy eye balls, you can use mini chocolate chips instead.
  2. You can make these treats as big or small as you want. This recipe yields 10 mummies but you can easily cut them in half and make 20 mummies.
