Mini M&M Cookies
These Mini M&M Cookies make the best cookies for any occasion. Kids will love them, adults will love them, everyone will love them. I used mini M&Ms because you get more chocolate in every bite. You can use different colored M&Ms for different occasions or holidays to make these festive and fun.
If you love baking with M&Ms, you’ll love my M&M Brownies! They have a super chewy texture with crunchy and chocolate bits of M&Ms in each bite.
Make these with red and green M&Ms and add these cookies to your holiday cookie trays. Santa loves these cookies, make sure to serve them with a glass of milk on Christmas Eve for him.
Some of my favorite super soft cookies are: Sugar Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chip Bakery Style Cookies, Pudding Mix Cookies, and this Mini M&M Cookie recipe.

How To Make Mini M&M Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or silpat mats and set aside.
- In a medium bowl whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt) until combined.
- With a stand mixer or electric hand mixer in a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat on high until combined- be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix together on low, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Stir in the mini M&Ms and mix again to combine.
- Form the cookie dough into small tablespoon balls (you can also use a cookie scoop and dived each cookie dough ball in half) and place on prepared baking sheet, about 1 1/2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire cooling rack and enjoy!

Recipe Tips
- You can totally make this M&M cookie dough ahead of time so all you have to do is pop the cookies in the oven to bake. The cookies will need a few additional minutes to the baking time. Form the cookie dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet and flash freeze for 30 minutes until hard. Place the cookie dough balls in a large zip lock bag and freeze for up to 3 month.
- If you want to make these cookies even smaller you can. Just be sure to bake them for a few minutes less as they will need less time to bake.
- You can use regular sized M&M candies, however since the chocolate pieces will be bigger you may not get as many M&Ms in each cookie. They will still be delicious!
- If you want to add more chocolate flavor, add a 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the flour mixture and add milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips to the cookie dough.
Leftovers & Storage
To-store: Store cookies at room temperature in an airtight container, cover platter with plastic wrap, or place in large ziplock bag. They will stay fresh for 7 days. They will still be ok to eat after 7 days but they may start to get crumbly and stale.
To-freeze: Allow the baked cookies to cool completely. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes to flash freeze or harden. Once hard, place the cookies in a large freezer bag or stack in an airtight container. Store for up to 2-3 months- when ready to serve, remove from the freezer to thaw until softened.

Hi Katie! I’m so happy to hear you loved these cookies 🙂 Thank you so much for trying my recipe!
These are a real treat. Question – Mine came out with cracks in them. Still delicious, but they don’t look like the pictures. What gives?
Hi Tim, I’m so glad you tried these M&M Cookies and they were delicious! The cracks in the cookie could be for a few different reasons 1) the cookie dough could of been over-mixed or too much flour was used. 2)it’s best to bake cookies in the middle rack of the oven for an even bake. 3)Using parchment paper or silpat mats prevents cracking as the cookies won’t spread rapidly and crack (as opposed to just greasing a cookie sheet). I hope this was helpful.
Am I the only one that actually made these cookies? The dough was dry and crumbly and when I baked them, they did not spread out. I went to another recipe and it called for 1.5 cups of flour instead of 1 and 3/4 cup. I think the extra flour made this too dry. The flavor was there but the texture was bad. Wish I could post pictures of my cookies to show you.
Hi Jessicam I’m so sorry your cookies didn’t turn out. I’ve made this recipe many times and my dough hasn’t been crumbly. It could of been that your butter wasn’t soft enough or you used too much flour?
I just made them according to the recipe and while rolling them into a ball, I noticed they were dry also. I shouldn’t have packed the flour into my measuring cups. I’ll try not to do that when I try the recipe again. I think I’ll add less mini M&Ms next time as well
These cookies are amazing . I did sift the flour, salt and baking soda together. I made a double batch so I could have some for later. Best idea. I like to cut back on salt. With me doing a double batch I only used 1/4 t of salt for the double batch. I also used 1c mini m&m and 1c choc chips. Mixed cookie dough together in bowl, Put it in the fridge for 1 -1 1/2hr to chill. I didnt ball them at this point, next time I will. For balling the cookies I used a mini scoop. For baking I cook at the 350 for 6 min and yes mine didnt spread either, but I used the bottom of a jar and flattened just a bit, rotate the cookie sheet and back in for 6 more min. Perfect.
I forgot to say that your pictures of the cookies is what drew me to make these cookies. Your photos are true to the outcome. Good job.
Hi Wendy, I am SO glad you loved these cookies and that you made a double batch. I appreciate your kind words and thanks for letting me know how your cookies came out and for trying my recipe!
