how to make witch hat cookies
Bake and cool cookies: Bake cookies according to package instructions. Let cookies cool completely.
Assemble the witch hats: Once cookies are cool, pipe the frosting in a swirl motion on top of each cookie. You can also use a spoon and dollop the frosting on the tops. Add sprinkles and then dab more frosting on the bottom of a chocolate kiss and place in the center of the cookie. Press down just a bit until the kiss is set. Repeat and enjoy!

tips & variations
- Cookie base: To make things easy, I love using a store-bought cookie dough base. You can use a cookie mix, make cake mix cookies, or make your own from homemade cookies scratch. Peanut butter cookies or sugar cookies are other great cookie options.
- Colorful hats: If you wanted these to be a brighter color, use neon green, orange or purple gel food coloring to color the frosting.
- Make ahead: Make the cookies a day ahead or make the entire recipe a day ahead if you wanted to bring these to a Halloween party.
- No bake cookies: Use Fudge Stripe Cookies instead of baking store-bought cookies.
- Cool cookies: Make sure the cookies are completely cool before assembling the witch hats, otherwise the frosting will melt off.
- Mini witch hats: Make the dough balls smaller and use chocolate chips for the hats.
