Why You’ll Love This Recipe

key ingredients
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: Use your favorite brand. I like to use the pre-scooped cookie dough balls to make it easier. If you get cookie dough from the tub, spoon it out of use a large ice cream scoop to form balls.
- Pumpkin Sugar Cookies: These are a classic! You can find these at most grocery stores at the end of August or early September. Trader Joe’s started carrying them in their version as well. Feel free to use the ghosts cookies too!
- Halloween sprinkles: To make these extra festive, fun and colorful. Both jimmies and nonpareils will work.

how to make halloween chocolate chip cookies
Prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll cookie dough balls together: Roll 2 pieces of chocolate chip cookie dough balls together (this will make thicker cookies) and then gently press down with your fingers just a bit.
Coat sides with sprinkles: Place the sprinkles in a bowl and roll the sides of the cookie in the sprinkles. Place on prepared cookie sheet and place a pumpkin sugar cookie on top.
Bake and enjoy! Bake for 10-12 minutes or just until the tops are a light golden brown color. Remove from the oven to let cool for a few minutes. Enjoy warm or transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

pro tips & variation
- Cookie dough: Swap the chocolate chip cookie dough for peanut butter, chocolate, white chocolate macadamia or any other store-bought favorites.
- Make a few at a time: Make as many cookies as you want since you could store the cookie dough for weeks in the fridge and it takes minutes to prep.
- Homemade cookies: Feel free to make your own chocolate chip cookies from scratch. These Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfect to make.
- Spooky cookies: Since it’s spooky season, add small candy eyes on the sides of the cookie dough.
- Make these cookies year round: Make these for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Christmas or any time you find the themed Pillsbury sugar cookies! Just omit the sprinkles or use holiday themed sprinkles.
- Add more chocolate: Swap the sprinkle for mini chocolate chips to make these extra rich and chocolatey.
