Quick Garlic Knots

These Quick Garlic Knots are buttery, fluffy, and full of garlic parmesan flavor. Easily made with buttermilk biscuit dough and takes minutes to whip up! Dip these delicious garlic knots in marinara sauce, pizza sauce, or serve them plain.

This is one of those recipes you’ll want to keep and make it over and over again.

I love how this delicious recipe comes together in minutes and it’s better than the garlic knots you can find at your local pizza place or Italian restaurants. My favorite thing about these knots is how quick they are to make and they’re packed with so much flavor.

Garlic Knots can be served with just about any meal and you’ll see these fly off the table. They’ll be a big hit anywhere you bring them because who doesn’t love a big basket of garlic knots ? They’re baked golden brown perfection and drenched in the most delicious seasoned cheesy garlic butter.

Key Ingredients

  • Buttermilk biscuits: This is the star ingredient because this is the garlic knot dough! Buttermilk biscuit dough has the most flavor and is the perfect size. You could also use bread dough, homemade pizza dough or store-bought pizza dough.
  • Butter: I use salted butter to add more flavor. Alternatively, you could use olive oil but the butter has so much more flavor.
  • Parmesan cheese: Use grated parmesan cheese or shredded.
  • Spices: Garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, dried or fresh parsley.

How To Make Garlic Knots

Assemble Biscuits: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Remove biscuits from can and cut each biscuit in half. There should be 16 biscuit halves total. Roll each half to a 7-8 inch long rope, tie into a knot, and place on prepared baking sheet.

Make Delicious Garlic Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and parsley until combined.

Brush & Bake: Brush shaped knots with half of the butter mixture. Place in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until knots are lightly golden brown. Brush the remaining butter mixture on the knots (if the butter has hardened, warm in the microwave). Serve immediately and enjoy!

Recipe Tips & Variations

Add More Garlic: If you’re a garlic lover, add 1-2 cloves of fresh garlic to the butter mixture. This will make the bread loaded with garlic flavor and a little bit of texture. Make sure the garlic is finely chopped or minced.

Add Spice: Add a 1/2 – 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the melted butter mixture.

Cheesy Garlic Knots: Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center each knot. Make sure to nestle it in enough to where the cheese isn’t visible- this way it won’t melt out.

Garlic Bread Sticks: Instead of tying each piece of biscuit dough into a knot, leave each piece of dough rolled out to make breadsticks.

Fresh Herbs: Add fresh parsley, fresh basil, fresh oregano and any of your other fresh herbs.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Easy Recipe: They take minutes of prep time and bake for less than 20 minutes in the oven so you can have a perfect side dish ready in less than 30 minutes. (This is perfect if you need a last minute side dish to bring to a party or dinner).

Crowd Pleaser: Perfect to bring to parties, gatherings, holidays, and easy to feed a large crowd. These are a fun finger food and easy to serve.

Garlic Butter Coating: The most delicious part of the knots is the garlic parmesan butter coating that makes these knots irresistible and the best garlic knots!

Simple Ingredients: You only need a handful of ingredients to make these and you don’t have to make your own dough.

Leftovers & Storage

To-Store: Just like most breads, these Garlic Knots are best the day they are made and next day. Store any leftovers in an airtight container or large ziplock bag on the counter for up to 5 days. To warm Garlic Knots again, place in the microwave, oven, or an air fryer for a few minutes. Heat just until warmed and soft. Be careful not to overhear the knots in the microwave as they can become chewy.

Freezer-Friendly: You can freeze baked Garlic Knots by placing them in a ziplock bag once they have baked and cooled completely. Try to remove as much air as you can from the ziplock bag. You can freeze these rolls for up to 3 months. When ready to enjoy, thaw the rolls in the refrigerator or at room temperature on your counter. Reheat in a 300 degree F oven until warmed, about 10 minutes.
