These cute Halloween Pumpkin Deviled Eggs make a perfect treat for your Halloween party or even as a fun appetizer or snack if you are looking for something easy, simple and cheap to make.
Just to be clear- there is NO actual pumpkin in these deviled eggs. They are just shaped like them!
We literally always have hard boiled eggs in our refrigerator pretty much every day because I boil about a dozen each week and my husband usually has a few for breakfast. With that being said, I had plenty of eggs already prepped to make these Halloween Pumpkin Deviled Eggs!
I feel like I can consider myself a pro by now at making hard boiled eggs because I do it so often. I do it the same way every time and they always come out perfect! They are not too well done and not too under cooked..they are just right and the yolk is perfectly creamy every single time.
HOW TO MAKE PERFECT HARD BOILED EGGS:
Hard boiled eggs should be quick and easy. There are so many different ways to boil eggs and this is by far my favorite way because the eggs come out perfect with such little effort. They are firm, yet still creamy and almost custard like.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Make sure there is enough water to cover at least 1 inch above the eggs.
- With a large or wooden spoon, carefully place the eggs in the boiling water. Reduce heat to medium-low and remove lid.
- Set a timer for 16 minutes and let the eggs cook.
- Once the eggs are done, immediately place them under cold water for about 2-3 minutes until the eggs are cooled.
OK now that you know how to boil the eggs. Let me tell you how to peel them perfectly.
HOW TO PEEL HARD BOILED EGGS
Placing the eggs in cold water is vital. It makes this step SO much easier so please don’t forget this step. If you don’t do this the eggs will be more difficult to peel and the membrane of the egg will likely rip leaving you with slightly ripped eggs.
- Gently crack the egg on a hard surface and peel with your hands under cold water. I like to place my peeled and cleaned eggs on a paper towel. Once all of the eggs are peeled and cleaned, pat with a paper towel and place in an airtight container or bowl until you are ready to use or eat them.
HOW LONG DO BOILED EGGS LAST?
- I keep my eggs in the fridge up to one week. Make sure they remain cold in the refrigerator.
Combine all ingredients (except for the egg whites) and mash with a fork until creamy. It is OK for the mixture to be lumpy.
Deviled eggs always appear at our family gatherings. My Nana is usually the Queen of making deviled eggs but I have made these a few times and I love how easy they are to make so I have been making them too!
These cuties take very little effort to put together. You can add Paprika OR Red Cayenne Pepper to the yolk mixture to get an orange-ish looking color. If you want you don’t want your eggs to be spicy, or love them plain- leave those spices out.
OTHER IDEAS TO MAKE PUMPKIN STEMS BESIDES CHIVES:
If you don’t like chives that is A-OK! Pieces of celery, parsley, green onions, green olives and lettuce (I recommend Romaine since it is firm) would work as an alternative option.
These Halloween Pumpkin Deviled Eggs are almost too cute to eat..almost..
THESE PUMPKIN DEVILED EGGS ARE:
- Easy! So easy it takes almost no time to whip up
- Simple! Everyone will love them…trust me
- So incredibly cute
- Perfect for Halloween or any Fall festivity
