Classic Deviled Eggs

CLASSIC DEVILED EGGS

Perfect hard boiled eggs are stuffed with a creamy and classic yolk filling. These Deviled Eggs are made with a classic recipe and require a handful of ingredients that you will already have at home. Make these eggs for a party, pot luck, holiday appetizer or make a batch for the week for an easy bite size snack.

These Pumpkin Deviled Eggs make the best appetizer for Halloween or Thanksgiving. They are too cute and shaped like cute little pumpkins.

Classic Deviled Eggs steps

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE DEVILED EGGS

  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Mayonaise
  • Dijon mustard
  • Yellow mustard
  • Salt + pepper
  • Paprika
  • Chives

HOW TO MAKE CLASSIC DEVILED EGGS

  1. Hard boil your eggs (see in notes how to hard boil an egg). Gently peel the eggs under cold water and make sure to remove any egg shells. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Slice the hard boiled eggs in half lengthwise. With a spoon, scoop out the egg yolks and place them in a medium bowl. Use a fork to mash the egg yolks together until they are finely crumbled. Add the mayo, Djon mustard, yellow mustard, salt and pepper. Mix until all of the ingredients in the yolk mixture is completely combined.
  3. Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to fill the inside of the egg whites until you use up all of the yolk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and chives for garnish.

HOW TO HARD BOIL EGGS

My favorite (and easiest) way to hard boil eggs is so simple.

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Make sure there is enough water to cover at least 1 inch above the eggs.
  • With a large or wooden spoon, carefully place the eggs in the boiling water. Reduce heat to medium-low and remove lid.
  • Set a timer for 16 minutes and let the eggs cook.
  • Once the eggs are done, immediately place them under cold water for about 2-3 minutes until the eggs are cooled.

You can totally dress these eggs up any way that you want! Some other mouthwatering Deviled Egg additions to add in are: chopped bacon, fresh herbs, mashed avocado, Sriracha sauce, diced pickles, or cheeses (blue cheese, feta, shredded cheddar or gouda).

TIPS FOR MAKING CLASS DEVILED EGGS

  • If you want to make these with a healthy twist, swap out the mayonnaise for plain nonfat Greek yogurt.
  • For extra creamy deviled eggs, add about 2-3 teaspoons of extra mayo or Greek yogurt
  • If you want to make these deviled eggs extra fancy for a holiday or party, add the yolk filling to a pipping bag and customize by using your favorite pipping tip
  • Use leftovers eggs in an egg salad sandwich! Chop up the leftover eggs and add them to sliced bread, its delicious!
