Ranch Potatoes

Crispy coated Ranch Roasted Potatoes are so easy to make and prepare. Made with 3 simple ingredients including your favorite potatoes (we use Russet or Yukon Gold), olive oil, and tangy ranch seasoning- that’s it!

These have so much incredible flavor from the ranch seasoning that coats each potato- ranch lovers will devour them. We bake these at a 450 degree oven which creates a crispy coating and soft and creamy centers, making the BEST roasted potatoes.

The best part is you can serve these crispy ranch potatoes with just about any of your favorite dishes. We love serving them with roasted chicken or any type of BBQ’d meat.

Other favorite ranch flavored recipes to make alongside is my Ranch Pasta Salad, Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip, and Buffalo Ranch Chex Mix.

key ingredients

  • Russet Potatoes: I love the skin on for extra flavor and texture but you can peel it off. Other alternative potatoes you can use are Yukon Gold potatoes, baby potatoes, fingerling potatoes, red potatoes, or just about any of your favorites.
  • Olive oil: Extra virgin olive oil has the most flavor but you could also use vegetable oil or canola oil to coat the potatoes.
  • Ranch dry mix seasoning: You can find the dry ranch seasoning mix at just about at any grocery store or make your own homemade ranch seasoning mix from scratch. I love using the Trader Joe’s dry Ranch mix seasoning or Hidden Valley Ranch packet.

what to serve with ranch potatoes

Potatoes are one of my favorites to make because there are endless ways on how to prepare them. Luckily, these Ranch Roasted Potatoes can be served alongside with so many different dishes such as chicken dishes, burgers, steak, and much more!

Some of my favorites to serve these with are my Italian Meatloaf, Big Mac Burger Sliders, Stuffed Bell Peppers, and Sheet Pan Chicken.

pro tips

  • I do not recommend preparing the potatoes ahead of time as the potatoes turn brown quickly once they’ve been cut. If you really want to, make sure to submerge the potatoes in cold water after they’ve been cut.
  • Potato wedges: Instead of cutting these into quarters, cut them into potato wedges. Make sure they are all the same size.
  • Leave the skin on: This is optional but I find the potatoes have more flavor when you leave the skin on. The skin helps the potatoes get extra crispy on the outside.

variations

  • Add spice: Add a few dashes of Tabasco, Tapatio, Frank’s hot sauce, or any of your favorites to add heat. You could also sprinkle the top of the potatoes with black pepper if you wanted the spice to be mild.
  • Cheesy bacon potatoes: Add crumbled crispy bacon and shredded to the top of the potatoes a few minutes before the potatoes are done baking.
  • Toppings: Dollops of sour cream, thinly sliced green onions, cheese, chopped parsley, fresh herbs, bacon bits, or Ranch dressing.
