Cake for breakfast?! YES please. This blended Baked Oats recipe tastes just like cake and is made with healthy ingredients like whole oats, banana, and peanut butter. The smooth and creamy consistency is even better than you could ever imagine.

No wonder why #bakedoats are trending on TikTok! These oats are something extra special, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try them. This new trendy method is my new favorite way to enjoy oatmeal.

The oats are so airy and light when they get baked, making a moist cake-like consistency. If you love baked oatmeal, try my Baked Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal, Blueberry Baked Oatmeal, and Banana Baked Oatmeal.

This recipe is too easy to make. All you do is put the ingredients in a blender or food processor, blend, and bake. It’s as simple as that.

INGREDIENTS

Oatmeal: whole roll oats work best. If you wanted to make this gluten-free, use gluten-free oats. Steel-cut oats or instant oats will not work for this.

Banana: this will make the baked oats sweet. The riper the banana, the sweeter your oats will be.

Milk: low-fat, whole milk, or almond milk can be used.

Egg: helps bind the ingredients together and makes the oats fluffier.

Peanut Butter: you can use any nut butter; almond, mixed nut butter, or cashew butter are great alternatives.

Maple Syrup: pure maple syrup is best. You can also use honey instead if you prefer.

Baking powder: makes these oats fluffy and rise.

Ground cinnamon: adds warmth and flavor.

Vanilla extract: enhances the flavors. You can also use almond extract for a sweeter flavor.

Chocolate chips: milk, white, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips can be used. Mini chocolate chips are also perfect too! If you love chocolate chips, add more!

ADD INGREDIENTS TO BLENDER: Add all of the ingredients, except for the chocolate chips to the blender. Blend until fully combined and be sure to scrape the sides of the blender.

ADD CHOCOLATE CHIPS: Stir in 2 tablespoons of the chocolate chips until combined.

BAKE: Pour the blended oats into the prepared bowls and top with the remaining chocolate chips. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean. Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy!

RECIPE TIPS & VARIATIONS

If you don’t have any oven-safe ramekins or bowls, you can bake this oatmeal in a muffin pan. Just be sure to reduce the baking time.

The flavors combinations you can add are endless! Some of my other favorite flavors and combinations are:

  • Chocolate Baked Oats: add 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • Protein-packed Baked Oats: add a scoop or two of your favorite protein powder to give this oatmeal a protein boost. You can also add flaxseed meal, collagen, and chia seeds to make this extra nutrient-dense.
  • Double Chocolate Baked Oats: add two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup more of dark chocolate chips. Omit the banana and peanut butter and add 2 tablespoons of plain or vanilla yogurt instead.
  • White Chocolate Macadamia Baked Oats: omit the banana, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and maple syrup. Swap for 2 tablespoons of plain or vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1/4 cup of macadamia nuts, and 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips.
  • Snickerdoodle Baked Oats: Omit the banana, peanut butter, and maple syrup. Swap for 3 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of honey. Lightly sprinkle;e the tops with cinnamon and sugar on top.
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Baked Oats: add 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and add an extra scoop of peanut butter to the center. Check out my Instagram video on how I made it.
  • Chocolate Chip Baked Oats: omit the banana, peanut butter, and maple syrup. Swap for 3 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips.

Other toppings you can add to the top of the baked oats are fresh berries, bananas, whipped cream, your favorite jam, caramel, nuts, shredded coconut, or even ice cream. You can add anything you love!

LEFTOVERS AND STORAGE

Store leftovers in an airtight container or cover each ramekin tightly with plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator and store for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze these baked oats after they are baked. Cover tightly and place in an airtight container or heavy-duty ziplock bag. Let the Oatmeal Baked thaw overnight and heat in the oven at 350 degrees F until warm, about 10 minutes.
