Why You’ll Love This recipe
key ingredients
- Oreos: Use regular Oreo cookies or any chocolate sandwich cookies. We love using double stuf Oreos so the Ornaments are extra thick.
- Chocolate chips: I love using a combination of both milk chocolate and white chocolate chips but you can use any. White candy melts, almond bark, or any type of melting candy. You can also use colored melting candy or add food coloring gel to the white chocolate if you wanted colored ornaments.
- Rolo candies: Used to make the top of the ornament. You can keep the wrapper on or off. I personally love the gold look on the cookies so we keep them on.
- Christmas sprinkles: Use your favorite holiday sprinkles! Sanding sugar, non-pareils and jimmies will all work. You can also use mini M&M candies or edible holiday decorations on top.
how to make oreo christmas ornaments
Melt chocolate: In a microwave safe bowl, add milk chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.
Dip cookies in melted chocolates: Dip cookie into the melted chocolate using a fork and lightly tap on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Place on prepared baking sheet and repreat with 8 more cookies. In another microwave safe bowl, add white chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals until melted. Repeat with remaining cookies.
Add ornament topping: Dip the bottom of each Rolo candy into the melted chocolate and press onto the top.
Add chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, and let set: Add the leftover melted milk and white chocolate into separate small plastic bags and snip a small piece of the corner off. Drizzle the melted chocolate on top of the Oreos in any way you want and then top with sprinkles. Let the cookie ornaments sit to harden or place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Enjoy!

- Christmas Oreo pops: Insert a candy stick into the bottom of the Oreos to make these into lollipops.
- Flavored chocolate: Add a drop of peppermint extract, butter extract, almond extract, or vanilla extract to the melted chocolate for more flavor.
- Oreos: Used the double-stuffed Oreos to get extra thick and stuffed cookies or any favorite Oreo flavors. Any type of chocolate sandwich cookies will work.
- Peanut butter stuffed: Add a 1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter in between each cookie for a creamy peanut butter filling.
- Ornament topping: Reese’s mini peanut butter cups, M&Ms, and mini candy canes make other great options.
