Ingredients

French Toast Sticks

  • 7 slices of thick white bread
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a shallow bowl or plate, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon until combined.
  • Poke each bread slice once or twice with a fork and then dip each side of the slice in the egg mixture. They won't need that much time to soak since they are smaller. Coat until each slice is coated completely in the mixture.
  • Place coated slices onto prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl combine the cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle half of the mixture on top of the unbaked French toast sticks.
  • Bake for 12 minutes and then remove from the oven. Carefully flip the French toast sticks over with a spatula or fork and brush melted butter on top. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar mixture and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Serve French toast sticks immediately with warm maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries (optional). Enjoy!
