 Candy Cane Caprese makes a fun and easy Christmas appetizer. Made with slices of fresh mozzarella and juicy tomatoes in the shape of a candy cane!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces fresh pre-sliced mozzarella cheese log
  • 2-3 large fresh tomatoes sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • fresh basil leaves for garnishing
  • flaky sea salt for sprinkling on top
  • balsamic vinegar glaze you could also use balsamic vinegar instead
  • olive oil for drizzling on top
  • crostini, sliced French bread, or crackers

Instructions

  • On a large cutting board or serving platter arrange the mozzarella cheese and tomato slices in an alternative pattern, forming a candy cane.
  • Place the fresh basil leaves around the board or platter along with a small serving bowl of the balsamic glaze and olive oil.
  • Before serving, sprinkle the tomatoes with sea salt, and drizzle with olive oil. Enjoy with fresh bread!
