Servings: 30 pieces
- 15 graham cracker sheets
- 3/4 cup salted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate or semi chocolate chips
- holiday sprinkles and/or chopped pecans optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a rimmed large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Cover with graham cracker sheets in a single layer and make sure they are touching.
In a medium saucepan, melt brown sugar and butter together on medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. The mixture will turn a caramel color. If you have a candy temperature it should be between 270 and 290 degrees F.
Pour the mixture evenly over the graham crackers. Be careful, it will be very hot!
Bake for 6 minutes or until bubbly. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Bake for 3 minutes and then remove from the oven. Let sit for 2 more minutes and then spread the melted chocolate with a rubber spatula or knife. Sprinkle pecans and sprinkles on top.
Let the Graham Cracker Toffee cool by letting it sit for 2 hours or until the chocolate hardens in a cool area. You can also refrigerate the toffee for 30 minutes to an hour if you want to speed up the process. When the chocolate is set, cut into squares or break into pieces. Enjoy!
