Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 8 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter plus 2 tablespoons divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4-1 cup peanut butter candies (peanut butter cups and or Reese's pieces)

Instructions

  • Line a 13×9 inch pan with foil or parchment paper and grease with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pot or stock pot to medium heat. Add butter and melt.
  • Reduce the heat to low heat and add mini marshmallows and 1/3 cup of peanut butter. Stir until melted, then add vanilla extract.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cereal until the marshmallow mixture completely coats the cereal.
  • Add the mixture to the prepared pan and gently press the mixture into the pan. Make sure you don't press too hard otherwise your treats will be too dense and hard.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Heat in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate on top of the rice krispies and spread evenly with a spatula. Top with peanut butter candies and let the treats rest for 30-60 minutes or until chocolate hardens. You could also place the treats in the refrigerator to harden quicker. Cut into squares and enjoy!
