Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats or quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • dash of cinnamon
  • fresh berries; optional

Instructions

  • Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  • Add in the oats and stir occasionally for 5 minutes until the oats have started to thicken.
  • Add in the maple syrup and brown sugar, stir until combined. Stir in a dash of cinnamon and add oatmeal to bowls and enjoy. Top with fresh berries and enjoy!

Notes

  1. If using quick-cooking oats instead of old-fashioned rolled oats, the oats will cook much faster.
